Teleserye Blues Begins

This blog is on Pinoy teleseryes--past and present. Watching these TV series in the Philippines remains to be one of the few things that make me feel connected to my fellow Filipinos. If narratives do help us imagine ourselves as citizens of a nation, it is now with these types of TV shows that the majority of us do--a function that epics, novels and komiks somehow held in the past. Needless to say, it would be very hard to ignore the presence of these shows in any attempt to understand the complexity of our generation's psyche. Teleserye Blues will attempt to document the times in light of our very own teleseryes. Stay tuned.
